Teton County, jointly with the Town of Jackson, adopted Title 8 (Pathways) of the Teton County/Jackson land development regulations effective January 1, 2019, defining and regulating electric bicycles (including Class 1, 2, and 3) on the shared pathway system, generally permitting Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes on pathways while restricting or prohibiting Class 3 (higher speed) e-bikes, subject to speed limits on the pathway network.

    Teton County/Jackson Title 8, §8-1-1

    Defines 'Electric Bicycle' as a bicycle equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts, and separately defines Class 1 Electric Bicycle ('low speed pedal-assisted electric bicycle') and other classes for purposes of regulating pathway use, adopted December 4, 2018, effective January 1, 2019.
