New Haven County follows the Connecticut state e-bike statutes, plus any county ordinances listed below. Cities and school districts inside the county may impose additional restrictions on paths, sidewalks and campus property.
New Haven County ordinances
Ordinance amendment regarding pocket bikes, minibikes, dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles
New Haven Code of Ordinances, Ch. 29, Art. VI (LR31-077)
Strengthens regulation and enforcement against illegal use of pocket bikes, mini bikes, dirt bikes, ATVs and similar motorized two-wheeled devices on city streets and sidewalks, relevant to unregistered or modified e-bikes.
