Electric Power-Assisted Bicycles / Electronic Conveyances
Va. Code § 46.2-904.1 (as applied within Town of Herndon and on the W&OD Trail)
Virginia state law, which governs use of electric power-assisted bicycles (e-bikes) within the Town of Herndon and on the adjoining W&OD Regional Trail, treats e-bikes generally the same as bicycles, subject to classification and speed restrictions; the Town of Herndon Police Department participates in regional e-bike safety and enforcement outreach.
