Nebraska e-bike regulations
Nebraska defines and regulates electric bicycles (Class I, II, III) under LB138 (2023), which amended the Nebraska Rules of the Road to classify e-bikes similarly to other states' three-tier systems and generally treat them as bicycles, not motor vehicles, subject to certain age, helmet, and use-path restrictions.

Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-614.02
Defines a Class I electric bicycle as having two, three, or four wheels, a saddle, operative pedals, and a motor not exceeding 750 watts/1 brake horsepower that ceases to assist above 20 mph, engaged only by pedaling.
Class I electric bicycle means a device with two, three, or four wheels, a saddle or seat, fully operative pedals, and an electric motor not exceeding 750 watts of power, producing no more than one brake horsepower, capable of propelling the bicycle at a maximum design speed of no more than twenty miles per hour on level ground, that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches that speed and is engaged only when the rider is pedaling.Nebraska LegislatureClass II electric bicycle, defined

Defines a Class II electric bicycle similarly to Class I but with a motor that can propel the bicycle without pedaling, up to 20 mph.

Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-614.04
Defines a Class III electric bicycle as similar to Class I but with a motor that assists up to 28 mph and requires a speedometer.
